JobMarker ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

1. Information We Collect

Account data

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google's OAuth service. We store this to identify your account.

Application data

We store the job applications, notes, events, and resume content you create inside JobMarker. This data is associated with your account and stored on our servers.

Usage data

We may collect anonymous usage metrics (page views, feature interactions) to improve the product. This data is not linked to individual identities.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and operate the JobMarker service.
  • To generate AI-assisted content (cover letters, resume optimisation hints) using the data you have explicitly provided — your resume and the job description you paste into the application.
  • To process payments via Paddle, our payment processor.
  • To send transactional communications (subscription confirmations, plan change notifications).

3. AI Features and Third-Party AI Providers

When you use AI features (cover letter generation, resume optimisation), the relevant content — your resume and the job description — is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. We use OpenAI as a data processor. Content sent to OpenAI is subject to OpenAI's privacy policy. We do not use your content to train AI models.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly to operate the platform:

  • Google — OAuth authentication.
  • OpenAI — AI content generation.
  • Paddle — Payment processing and subscription management.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and application data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below. Paddle retains billing records independently as required by their financial obligations.

6. Cookies

JobMarker uses localStorage (not cookies) to store your authentication token in the browser. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, JWT-based authentication, and database encryption at rest. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
